Sky Sports #GoZero, Sky Scope & SPS’ Warren Williams win at the Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards 2020

Thursday 26 November 2020

Last night, Sky took home 5 Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards, with more than half handed out to SPS/Sky Sports.

The Broadcast Tech Innovation Awards recognises TV productions and individuals that have made the biggest impact over the past 12 months and are judged by some of the leading names in the broadcast industry.

The awards represent a huge win for Sky and once again highlights the technical innovation and post production work SPS/Sky Sports have achieved before and during lockdown.

SPS/Sky Sports Winners:

Editor’s Choice – Sky Sports #GoZero – Sky Sports

Technical Innovation in a Sports Broadcast – Sky Scope – Sky Sports, Sky Creative, MRMC, and Dimension Studios
Young Talent of the Year – Post Production – Warren Williams – Sky Production Services

Speaking about Warren’s talent, Oliver Bramley (Post Producer) said: “Warren has quickly become a safe bet in our Colour department, after spending an amount of time shadowing our senior grader and taking on any jobs that he could to build up his portfolio and gain much needed hands-on experience. Confidence in Warren has grown quickly, both internally and externally, and as a Post Producer that is a priceless asset. Most recently he graded Bitter Pill for me, a feature-length Sky News commissioned documentary, to fantastic feedback. I’ve been lucky to work with some of television’s most renowned colourists, and what always strikes me about them is how they can further shape a narrative through colour – Seeing Warren as a young grader developing this skill so quickly is fantastic.”

Other Sky Winners:

Best Innovation in Lockdown – Production, Technical Innovation in a News Broadcast – Sky News: Life After Lockdown – Sky News
