What does Lighting involve?
As a key part of the Production Studios Team, Lighting Electricians work across Sky Sports to manage and maintain lighting systems, both in Studio and across various event spaces. The lighting electricians are required to rig, set and balance lighting in Sky Studios to the highest standards and quality, while ensuring that all electrical setups meet safety regulations and industry standards.
We work closely with all other craft teams in Sky Production Services in some of the most advanced and innovative facilities in TV. Working across Premiere League Football to Sky News and everything in between, the Lighting Electrician role is dynamic, collaborative and key to delivering the exceptional output expected of Sky.
What does the Lighting team do?
Assist in rigging, setting up and balancing lighting, either following a plan or under direction.
Operate lighting consoles as necessary depending on production and crew requirements
Perform routine maintenance on lighting equipment and keep things tidy.
Make sure all electrical installations, whether in the studio or on location, are up to date with safety standards.
Be flexible, curious, and proactive in embracing changes and juggling tasks.
Follow health and safety guidelines and ensure documentation is up to date.
Lead by example, promoting a positive, inclusive work environment that reflects company values.
Working across all studio output, the Lighting department is crucial to making everything look the absolute best it can.
