George Floyd: From Murder To Justice?

The Brief:
SPS were approached by Sky News to provide final post-production with stylised grade & sound design on ‘George Floyd: From Murder To Justice?’ – a 45-min commemorative documentary looking back at George Floyd’s death one year on. The brief was to aid the Sky News team as they relived the event that rocked the world, reviewed the impact on the global anti-racism discussion and ultimately asked if anything has changed since?
The Solution:

To ensure that the project was delivered on time and captured the right tone, we selected a seasoned team with experience working with Sky News and balancing quick turnarounds and no margins for error to maintain a high level of service. Our team worked calmly and coolly with Sky News before the project greenlit to deliver the best product while adhering to COVID-19 protocols/social distancing. With grade and online signed off remotely, audio completed with mixer and client in separate suites (monitoring and feeding back changes), and voiceover conducted via linked studio (talent in the booth and engineer & client in separates rooms).

Edited in Avid Symphony and Adobe Premiere Pro, given a Baselight grade and a Pro Tools audio mix, the project was turned around in 3 weeks and delivered for transmission on Sky Documentaries on the 1-year anniversary of George Floyd’s passing.
